Makeup Trends Spring 2023 February 25, 2023

As we have noticed in fashion, makeup, hair and trends in general, there is always a rocking pendulum. Things come into a trend and then soon the opposite becomes popular. Within the makeup trends we have seen a lot of clean, natural looks become very popular. Brides no longer wanted to have a full face of perfection but more subtle looks that accentuate their natural beauty. Natural pink lips, dewy skin, no eyeliner, and light mascara has been all the rage. But we have noticed a different trend taking force. Smokey, blurry, messy makeup is slowly but surely making its way back to mainstream culture. Places like Tiktok have been a great way to see what gains traction and what is up and coming.

Smokey eyes, with less of an emphasis on perfection is the ultimate cool girl makeup look. Another new layer to this trend is the colors that people are using to achieve these eye looks. We are seeing colors like red, orange, brown, blues, and pinks, instead of just the traditional black and grey color pallets we’ve used to create a smokey eye.

Another great trend that is making an entrance is the stronger use of blush. Heavy blush in replacement of bronzers and contouring has been seen on all the runways. Seeing the translation into everyday lives will be subtle but we will be seeing the transition this upcoming spring/summer 2023.

Makeup is a wonderful way to express yourself and get creative. Being inspired by the upcoming trends is always a great way to find a new sense of excitement in fashion, makeup and hair. Stay true to what you really enjoy but don’t be scared to step out of the box!
