Depending on where you call home, many of us struggle with dry skin when the winter season rolls around. Here are some quick and easy tips for fighting dry skin this season.
1. Oil up
-Hair oil, facial oil and body oil are great ways to add a layer of protection from the harsh winds and temperatures of winter.
2. Use a hydrating facial moisturizer
-Talk to your esthetician about what moisturizer would be best for your skin type. It is common to have to adjust your routine depending on the season.
3. Try a humidifier
-Great for overall health, a humidifier can be great for throat dryness, skin dryness and hair dryness.
4. Avoid long hot showers
-Too hot of showers can dry our skin out even more. Choose a less harsh temperature to shower or bathe in and moisturizer your whole body right away after.
5. Don’t over exfoliate
-Over exfoliating can cause our skin’s natural barrier to become weakened and cause it to do a worse job at protecting us. Instead of exfoliating once a week try to only exfoliate twice a month during the harsh winter season.
6. Hydrate from the inside
-Water is key! Staying hydrated can help our body function better. It will help our skin work the way it was intended. Upping our water intake can help us feel bright, glowing, and keep our skin beautiful!
